In 1982, a North Queensland team comprising of Townsville and Mackay’s best players competed in the National Championship held in Brisbane. Townsville players included Sue Brandon, Carmel Gatto, Colleen Khan, Chris Kinlay, Martina Roberts and Ann Warhurst (all pictured on the right).
By 1985 though membership in the Women’s Association was dropping and the women’s division came under the control of the North Queensland’s mens association.
