1950s

A short-lived return

After the war, football returned to Toowoomba in the early 1950s. In 1951, the Brisbane Telegraph reports that soccer was returning to Toowoomba and should be back to “back to its former strength” soon. By 1952, Toowoomba appeared to playing intercity matches once more and a local competition between Southend United, Valleys, Acland and Willowburn emerged. Dalby also participated in football for the first time during this period, forming its first team in 1954. However, by the mid 1950s there is no record of a competition or teams in Toowoomba or the surrounding area.
