QSF recorded 150 mens and women’s senior teams in the Brisbane area alone.

Brisbane Lions paid former Manchester United and Northern Ireland football legend, George Best,  to play three matches for them during their 1983 season. Best is described as showing ‘glimpses of his ball skills, but his work-rate was very low.’  It didn’t save Lions from a bottom placed finished.
