MATILDAS AND ROAR PLAYER
Growing up in the Gold Coast, Hayley Raso has worked hard to become one of Australia’s best. Raso has been with the Matildas since 2012 and has travelled to two World Cups with the team so far. During her first World Cup in Canada, Raso didn’t get any minutes on the pitch. But during the 2019 World Cup in France, she made her first World Cup appearance playing against Italy.
Just a year before this World Cup debut, Raso broke her back while playing for Portland. After the injury, Raso had to learn to walk again. But after a tough rehabilitation process, Raso was back playing for the Matildas just six months after her injury.
Raso has also played for Brisbane Roar FC, making 47 appearances and scoring 16 goals in her time playing for the club. However, in early 2020, Raso left the Roar to play for Everton Football Club.
