PLAYER AND COACH
Alec Gibb was Scottish-born in the late 1880s, and played for Australia (Socceroo #1). He also played for Bundamba (an Ipswich Club) and in the 1920s QLD Rep Team. After his playing career ended, he continued in coaching and managerial roles (as shown in the 1938 QLD Team photograph). Alec is often pictured with other Scottish player, Johnny Peebles who also played and coached at the time as Alec.
Alec Gibb’s son, Lex Gibb, also played for the QLD Rep Team in 1939 and went on to play for Australia (Socceroo #77).
